The Undergraduate Cultural Training Program (UCTP) is dedicated to developing the knowledge of diversity and social justice issues for undergraduate students. UCTP will allow students to further develop their knowledge of diversity and social justice issues, as well as their organization, planning, and implementation skills. Major areas UCTP will focus on are race, ethnicity, religion, and socioeconomic class. This position is a year-long commitment
Requirements:
•10 week, 90 minute seminar (fall)
•Organize, plan, and implement an action item (spring)
•Assist in Center programming (fall and spring)
•Attend mid-semester check-in meeting (fall and spring)
Seminars will be held for 10 weeks on Fridays from 4-6 PM beginning September 18, 2009. Participation in ALL sessions are mandatory. The fall semester seminar will provide students the skills to implement an action-oriented project in the spring. The action item for spring will include, but is not limited to, participation in Intergroup Dialogue, development of an –ISM project, or planning of a Social Justice Conference. As The Center’s Peer Educators all UCTP Participants will receive $200 campus cash per semester as a stipend.
